The Shetland Islands

The northern most reaches of the United Kingdom, the Shetland Islands offer some of the most complex geology and spectacular rugged coastline in all of Europe. The islands history is dominated by Viking influences and the islands feature some 5,000 archaeological sites, whilst the unmistakable Shetland Pony and Shetland Sheep dog are just two of the well-known Shetland animal breeds.
